1. The Challenge: Disconnected Teams and Subjective Rationale

In large enterprise organizations like Subvrsive and Dell Technologies, design scaling fails when growth happens without operational infrastructure. Multi-disciplinary product teams were operating in silos, executing isolated research, and struggling to defend design decisions to executive leadership. Without clear role clarity or a unified governance model, design was frequently treated as an aesthetic service rather than a strategic business lever.

2. Architecting the Design Playbook & Operational Framework

To transform design into an accountable, repeatable capability, I authored a comprehensive Design Operations Playbook. This framework defined end-to-end delivery standards, governance checkpoints, and cross-functional handoffs aligned with the POMA product lifecycle.

Roles & Responsibilities Matrix (RACI)

Defined clear operational boundaries between Product Managers, UX Directors, Lead Designers, Research Specialists, and Engineers to eliminate friction and overlap.

Embedded Research Practice

Shifted user research from a ad-hoc phase into a continuous discovery posture, integrating quantitative analytics and qualitative user feedback directly into backlog prioritization.

3. Transforming Executive Alignment: The Justification Methodology

A cornerstone of this practice-building effort was introducing a structured methodology for presenting and justifying design decisions. Instead of pitching visual concepts, designers were trained to frame work through business metrics, risk reduction, user evidence, and technical feasibility.

This decision-justification framework proved so effective in bridging the gap between creative teams and C-suite stakeholders that global enterprise partners—including global brand teams at Coca-Cola—adopted the presentation methodology to align multi-billion dollar product workstreams across international markets.

4. Results & Executive Endorsements

By combining operational playbooks, role clarity, an embedded research discipline, and evidence-based storytelling, the design organization achieved a seat at the executive strategy table.

"I always reference you and talk about the kind of impact someone like you can have in unleveling an organization. I’m also amazed at your ability to influence across disciplines."
